All Time Backlash Event Results 1999 to 2023 The event was established in 1999 and was the first monthly PPV following the cancellation of the original In Your House shows, which were monthly PPVs conducted between the promotion's "Big Five" PPVs at the time: Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, King of the Ring, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series. Before the event took place, the branding for the inaugural Backlash performance was changed from In Your House to Backlash.
